Customise your export file names

A lot of you use our Saved Reports feature to schedule the sending of a report directly to your inbox or to an SFTP server. By default the export file name is

  • <date> <time>_<company_name>_TBI Export

If it were a CSV file it would additionally specify the grid view (Entities, Applications or Transactions).

This naming convention ensures files don’t overwrite each other because they’re unique (given the timestamp) but it’s not particularly useful if you’re generating a lot of exports. Is this file, for example, from my saved report called “Paid by TBI or Supplier” or is this the file for the saved report I called "Incompliant spend analysis"?

That’s what this change introduces. Whenever you schedule (or edit an existing) Saved Report you can now optionally choose your file name with the option to include <date> and <time>.

In this example the extract will be called:

  • Paid Applications_1103202.1014

It means that whenever you receive the exports you’ll know exactly which Saved Report this export is based on and when it was generated!
